How is Medication Given?
A sterile powder that contains Prednisolone Sodium Succinate is recommended. Typical recommended intramuscular dosage rate for dogs is is 20 mg. This dosage rate varies based on the severity of the dog's condition and the dog's body weight, with dosage rates ranging from 2 mg (for a miniature breed) to 40 mg (for a medium breed) to 120 mg (for a very large breed or a dog with a severe condition). Typical recommended intramuscular dosage rate for cats is 10 mg to 20 mg. Administer weekly or based upon the animal's clinical response and the condition severity. Typical recommended intramuscular dosage rate for horses is 200 mg, repeating as needed. To treat chronic conditions as maintenance therapy, the initial dose should be gradually reduced to achieve the lowest effective dosage rate. A tablet that contains Methylprednisolone can also be administered to cats or dogs as maintenance therapy, and administered as recommended. When withdrawing treatment after intensive and prolonged therapy, reduce the dosage rate gradually. If the animal shows signs of stress, increase dosage rate. If the animal needs maximum-intensity rapid hormonal effect (such as a case of anaphylactic shock), intravenous use is indicated.

Precautions:
If you believe your cat is behaving unusually, notify your veterinarian. Never administer concomitantly with any vitamin or drug without consulting your veterinarian.
