DESCRIPTION: EstroPlan contains Closprostenol Sodium, a prostaglandin F2-alpha analogue. It is intended for intramuscular injection to induce luteolysis in beef and dairy cattle. This helps manipulate estrus to terminate pregnancies resulting from mismating, treat the symptoms of prolonged luteal function, and meet specific management standards.

Luteolysis (corpus luteum morphological and functional regression) is a condition that can occur in normal-cycling, non-pregnant animals. It affects the lifespan of the corpus luteum, which allows for estrus within 2 to 5 days of treatment. Cycles will return, conditions will be resolved, and luteolysis will occur when administered to an animal with prolonged luteal function (pyometra), mummified fetus, or luteal cysts.

Dose and Administration: Sold in vials containing 20 or 100 mL (10 or 50 doses).
Possible Side Effects: At 50 to 100 times the recommended dosage rate, non-serious side effects are possible, including increased uneasiness, moderate frothing, or milk let-down.
Precautions:
Only use for animals. Not for human use. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, are a woman of childbearing age, have asthma, have a bronchial condition, or have any type of respiratory issue, exercise great caution when handling this problem. Keep in mind that women may be unaware of their pregnancies in the early stages. This product readily absorbs into the skin, which can cause bronchspasms and abortions. Therefore, skin contact should be avoided. Accidental spillage should be removed from the skin at once with soap and water. Do not use in pregnant animals unless the calf is intended for abortion.
Storage Recommendations: Store at room temperature between 20 to 25 degrees C (68 to 77 degrees F). Keep in original packaging. Shield from light.
