DESCRIPTION: Clavacillin contains Clavulanate Potassium and Amoxicillin Trihydrate. This oral medication delivers the benefits of a broad-spectrum antibiotic and a Ã-lactamase inhibitor, allowing it to effectively treat susceptible bacterial infections. It can treat periodontal disease, soft tissue infections, and skin infections in cats and dogs. Key Benefits: Amoxicillin and Clavulanate are the two active ingredients in this product. They work together to deliver broad-spectrum antibiotic action. Clavulanate works to weaken certain bacteria that can be resistant to Amoxicillin, which causes bacterial susceptibility. Amoxicillin prevents bacteria from creating cell walls. Formulated For: Intended for cats and dogs. How is Medication Given? For cats, the recommended dosage rate is 1 mL (62.5 mg) administered twice daily. Soft tissue or skin infections, including dermatitis, cellulitis, or abscesses, should be treated for a 5- to 7-day period, or for 48 hours following the disappearance of all symptoms. Do not administer for more than 30 days. If the cat does not appear to be responding to treatment after 3 days, withdraw treatment and have your veterinarian re-evaluate your pet. Treatment for urinary tract infections could require 10 to 14 days of extended treatment. For dogs, the recommended dosage rate is 1 mL per 10 pounds of body weight (6.25 mg per pound) administered twice daily. Soft tissue or skin infections, including periodontal infections, juvenile pyoderma, superficial pyoderma, wounds, cellulitis, or abscesses, should be treated for a 5- to 7-day period, or for 48 hours following the disappearance of all symptoms. Do not administer for more than 30 days. If the dog does not appear to be responding to treatment after 5 days, withdraw treatment and have your veterinarian re-evaluate your pet.
