DESCRIPTION: Normosol-R Electrolyte Solution is an isotonic, nonpyrogenic, and sterile solution that supplies intravenous electrolytes. NORMOSOL-R should be subcutaneously administered, or it can be infused intravenously. Infusion rate should be determined by replacing lost extracellular fluid in each specific patient. Administer as much as 3 times estimated blood loss volume during and post-surgery in an effort to reconcile the circulatory volume in cases of moderate blood loss. What Results Can I Expect? This solution works to restore electrolytes and parenteral fluid. It is free of supplementary buffers, antimicrobial agents, or bacteriostat. It should be administered only once. What Form Does Medication Come In? Injectable, Liquid Dose and Administration: Sold as a bag containing 1000 mL. Possible Side Effects: There are no known adverse reactions associated with this medication. Storage Recommendations: Store in a cool and dry location.
