Description: Optimmune 0.2% Ophthalmic Ointment is used for management of chronic keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS) and chronic superficial keratitis (CSK) in dogs and other eye conditions in dogs. Administer prescribed dose by pulling down on the bottom lid of your petâs eye and applying the prescribed amount of ointment into the eye. Exercise proper caution not to touch the dropper or tube opening to any surface including eyes or hands as that may contaminate the sterile surface. Wash hands before and after application. If using with other eye drops or ointments, separate dosing by 5 minutes. Side Effects: Optimmune  has no known serious side effects. If your pet is using this medication for the first time please watch for any allergic reactions that might occur, if your pet develops a rash, etc call you veterinarian immediately. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian. Drug & Food Interactions: There are no documented drug interactions with this medication. Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together. Cautions: For ophthalmic use in dogs only. The safety of Optimmune has not been determined in cases of preexisting viral or fungal ocular infections, nor in puppies, pregnant bitches, or dogs used for breeding. In clinical trials, ocular and periocular inflammatory reactions, transient hyperemia, epiphora, mild discomfort of the eye and mild alopecia were reported in a small number of treated dogs. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your horse has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your horse displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic.
