Step 2: Pour seed into the wide top. Step 3: To lock the roof back onto the feeder, gently pull on the metal clips, align roof with plastic tabs on feeder and release. Cleaning the Feeder: Remove locking metal roof by squeezing the plastic tabs located under the rim and lifting. Hand wash with warm water and a mild antibacterial soap. Rinse thoroughly and let dry completely before refilling with seed. If seed gets caught in the bottom beneath the perches, remove the two screws from the bottom to remove the metal base. To reinstall the base, secure the metal base to the plastic body with the screws. Do not over-tighten. Choose Your Birds: Use the tension adjustment pin below the perch to Choose Your Birds. Use your feeder with the pin in the down position for smaller birds. Larger birds can perch with the pin in the up position. 1. Place the bird feeder pole at least 15 feet or more from any surface the squirrel can jump from, such as a tree, shrub, house or other bird feeder.
