Description: Semintra Oral Solution is an used for the control of systemic hypertension in cats. It may also be used for the reduction of proteinuria associated with chronic kidney disease. Administer with the enclosed dosing syringe. After dosing, the syringe should be removed from the bottle, rinsed and dried and the bottle cap screwed back on tightly. Can be administered directly into the mouth or with a small amount of food. If the cat vomits within 30 minutes of dosing, the cat may be re dosed. Once bottle is opened, use the contents within 6 months. Missed Doses: Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose, and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give 2 doses at once. Side Effects: Your pet may experience vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, anemia, dehydration, poor appetite, and weight loss. Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian. Drug &Food Interactions: The following drugs can potentially interact with Semintra : enalapril, benazepril, corticosteroids, digoxin, insulin, NSAIDs, and spironolactone. The safe use of Semintra with other anti hypertensive medications has not been evaluated. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together. Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, and a drug interaction may be anticipated. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and or monitor your pet more closely. Cautions: For oral use in cats only. Pregnant women should avoid contact with Semintra because substances that act on the renin angiotensin aldosterone system (RAAS) such as angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) can cause fetal and neonatal morbidity and death during pregnancy in humans.
