DESCRIPTION Lidocaine 2% Injection, formerly called Lidoject, is usually administered as a topical and local anesthetic. It must be injected near the wound or surgical site. Possible Side Effects: The most frequently reported adverse reactions include transient injection site redness, stinging, or swelling. Precautions: Lidocaine is typically tolerated well. However, like any local anesthetic, side effects are possible as a result of inadvertent intravascular or subarachnoid injection, hypersensitivity, overdose, or faulty technique.
